Seeing the Unseen

(By Rachel T Joyce)
I caught a glimpse of Him today,
Out of the corner of my eye—
And the shimmering of His glory
Made my breath catch
In my throat, and my eyes
Couldn’t hold back the tears
At His overwhelming beauty.
Lord, don’t let my heart cool
Towards You, fill me with holy
Passion, let my lips sing praise
Of You, only You. And fill
My heart with worship of You,
Only You. Worthy, worthy, worthy
Are You, Lord God Almighty!
And I hear the faint melody
Of angel voices worshipping
The One who was, and is, and
Evermore will be, eternal
Son, beloved of the Father,
Beloved by me, and I lift my
Voice to join celestial praise.
Lord, give me eyes to see Your
Beauty, give me ears to hear Your
Voice, give me a heart to thrill to
Your presence, Lord, for I
Was made for You and You alone
And my heart is restless until I
Rest in You, my Lord and God.
