Dear Christians,

Thank you for your commitment and consistency in prayer for our prodigals and revival.

Satan is an enemy and will do his best to cheat us out of God’s best for us. It is critical for us to trust in our God and fight the lies with the truth. Satan will attack our identity and position in Christ, causing us to doubt that we are true children of royalty.

Despite the onslaught of lies, we need to believe what God says. John addresses this with these words, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1).

Satan tries to undermine our worth, causing us to doubt the value God has placed upon us. Peter’s words to the scattered believers of the first century can strengthen our faith as well: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

We are God’s possession, purchased by the blood of Christ, and of immense value to Him.

Satan will constantly try to undermine our feelings by attempting to bring us into the realm of fear. These feelings will steal our usefulness for God and rob us of true joy. I love the words of Zach Williams as he puts the reality of Scripture into song:

Fear, he is a liar.

He will take your breath,

Stop you in your steps.

Fear he is a liar.

He will rob your rest,

Steal your happiness.

Cast your fear in the fire,

'Cause fear, he is a liar.

Satan will also try to sabotage our service for God. He does this in many ways, but one of the predominant means is messing with our motives. If he can get us doing the right things for the wrong reasons, he’s laughing.

This is why each of the epistles stresses the need to keep our love to Christ vibrant. In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul says, “For the love of Christ controls us.” As our love for Him remains real and fresh, our service is not just mere activity, but becomes worship.

As we pray today, may we continue to combat the enemy’s lies with God’s truth.

Love in Christ,

Bryan and Rachel
