Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you for your willingness to pray with us each Wednesday for our prodigals and for revival. This may seem like a small deal but it is not. Every prayer lifted to the ear of God is of great value. He pays attention to all the details of our lives and hears each and every request we make.

I was reminded of this when reading the story of the colt in Mark eleven: “As Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks, ‘What are you doing?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it and will return it soon’” (Mk. 11:1-3).

The story is well known. We have seen the pictures at Easter time of Jesus riding this unused, untamed, little donkey into the city of Jerusalem prior to His crucifixion. It was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy of Zechariah, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zec. 9:9). The accuracy, the preciseness of God is beautiful to behold.

It is the last clause of Mark 11:3 that caught my attention — “The Lord needs it and will return it soon.” The Lord used this animal for the great purpose of entering Jerusalem before going to the cross, and in doing so fulfilled Scripture, but He was not negligent in the important detail of getting this animal back to its owner as soon as possible. Who would have thought about this minor detail in such a great story? As Jesus proceeds into Jerusalem no one even thinks anymore about the young donkey. But Jesus thought of it and ensured that it was properly and promptly returned to its owner.

Like the donkey, your life can be used by the Lord Jesus for some divine purpose, and when He does this, He will ensure that the details are covered. Being “untied” for Jesus is a big thing. Being “needed” by Him, and being used by Him are incredible privileges that we share. As you submit to Him and as He takes control of your life, He will ensure that you are cared for each step of the way. The details of life may not be easy, pleasant, or desirable from our perspective, but He’s got you in His hand and will not let any unnecessary thing happen in your life. The poem “The Weaver” with the added refrain is applicable to each of us. It was written by Grant Colfax Tullar and often quoted by Corrie ten Boom. Sometimes this poem is referred to by the title, “The Tapestry.”

My life is but a weaving between my God and me.

I cannot choose the colors, He weaveth steadily.

Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow; And I in foolish pride

Forget He sees the upper, and I the underside.

Not ’til the loom is silent, and the shuttles cease to fly

Will God unroll the canvas, and reveal the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful, in the weaver’s skillful hand,

As the threads of gold and silver, in the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares; nothing this truth can dim.

He gives the very best to those, who leave the choice to Him.

Queridos compañeros de oración,

Gracias por su disposición para orar cada miércoles con nosotros por nuestros hijos e hijas pródigos y por el avivamiento. Esto puede parecer un pequeño detalle, pero no lo es. Cada oración elevada al oído de Dios tiene un gran valor. Él presta atención a todos los detalles de nuestras vidas y escucha todas y cada una de las peticiones que le hacemos.

Me acordé de esto cuando leí la historia del potro de Marcos once: “Cuando Jesús y sus discípulos se acercaban a Jerusalén, junto a Betfagé y a Betania, frente al monte de los Olivos, Jesús envió dos de sus discípulos, y les dijo: Id a la aldea que está enfrente de vosotros, y luego que entréis en ella, hallaréis un pollino atado, en el cual ningún hombre ha montado; desatadlo y traedlo. Y si alguien os dijere: ¿Por qué hacéis eso? Decid que el Señor lo necesita, y que luego volverá” (Marcos 11: 1-3).

La historia es bastante conocida. Hemos visto las imágenes en el tiempo de la Pascua de Jesús montando este burrito, sin usar o domar, hacia la ciudad de Jerusalén antes de Su crucifixión. Este fue el cumplimiento de la profecía del Antiguo Testamento de Zacarías: “Alégrate mucho, hija de Sion; da voces de júbilo, hija de Jerusalén; he aquí tu rey vendrá a ti, justo y salvador, humilde, y cabalgando sobre un asno, sobre un pollino hijo de asna” (Zacarías 9: 9). La exactitud y la precisión de Dios es hermosa de contemplar.

Es la última oración de Marco 11: 3 que llamó mi atención – Decid que el Señor lo necesita, y que luego lo devolverá. El señor usó este animal para llevar a cabo el gran propósito de entrar a Jerusalén antes de ir a la cruz, y con esto la Escritura fue cumplida, pero Él no fue negligente en el importante detalle de devolver al animal a su dueño tan pronto como fuese posible. ¿Quién hubiese pensado acerca de este pequeño detalle en una historia tan grandiosa? Mientras Jesús avanza a Jerusalén, nadie piensa más en el asno. Pero Jesús pensó en ello y se aseguró de que fuese devuelto a su dueño de pronta y adecuadamente.

Como el asno, tu vida puede ser usada por el Señor Jesús para algún propósito divino, y cuando Él lo dispone, Él se asegurará que los detalles estén cubiertos. Estar “desatado” por Jesús es gran cosa. Ser “necesitado” por Él y ser “usado” por Él son privilegios increíbles que compartimos. Si te entregues a Él y dejas que Él tome el control de tu vida, Él se asegurará de cuidarte en cada paso del camino. Los detalles de la vida tal vez no sean fáciles, placenteros, o deseables desde nuestra perspectiva, pero Él te tiene en Su mano y no permitirá que suceda algo innecesario en tu vida. El poema "El tejedor" (The Weaver) con el estribillo añadido es aplicable a cada uno de nosotros. Fue escrito por Grant Colfax Tullar y frecuentemente citado por Corrie Ten Boom. A veces se hace referencia a este poema con el título "El tapiz" (The Tapestry).
